Beachside Oyster Roast Bonfire A Huge Success

About 200 people from several states showed up for the oyster roast – coming from places like Atlanta, Columbia, and Charlotte. Saturday evening, the weather was clear and just cold enough for people to gather by the lake and around the fires to eat, talk, and laugh.

“The TDA wants to thank Tom Judson, Mark Dirks and the all the staff at Rumbling Bald for putting a great evening together,” says Michelle Whitaker, TDA Communications Manager. “It was fun – so much I forgot I was working. I brought my friends from Florida, and they can’t wait to come back next year.”

Music was provided by Rutherford County high school student Trent Hudson. The 17 year old was found on his “First Rays of the Sun” myspace website – “People there were stunned anytime they heard it was one of his first performances, ever,” says Whitaker. “The quiet and surreal electric guitar seemed just right – it floated among the crowd and across the water. I hope we’ll be hearing more from this young local musician.”
